MicroWorld releases new version of eScan Corporate - 23 May 2007

The advanced Security Solution provider in AntiVirus, AntiSpam and Content Security, MicroWorld Technologies today launched its new version of eScan Corporate. As a comprehensive security solution that protects Information Networks of organizations and business houses, this new version is compatible with Windows Vista and 64 bit Windows.

“With this new release we ensure that we continue to pack the best-of-breed technologies and algorithms in AntiVirus, AntiSpam and Content Security components of eScan,” said Govind Rammurthy, CEO of MicroWorld Technologies, on the occasion. “These new features not only add more power to the individual modules of the software but also enhance Centralized Security Management of an organization’s IT infrastructure.”

He continued, “The AntiVirus system of eScan offers protection against all kinds of malware with the earliest detection of new Viruses and Worms in HTTP and FTP traffic. Harmful stuff like Adware, Spyware and Greyware are also detected and removed”.

For blocking Spam, the new eScan uses a combination of technologies along with MicroWorld’s unique NILP technology. The Content Security is strengthened with newer algorithms and extensive filtering methods. Policies with multiple categories can be enforced on different user groups so that, as an administrator you have total control and flexibility in deciding who accesses what, Govind added.

As he hinted, Non Intrusive Learning Patterns (NILP) is a revolutionary mechanism in Spam and Phishing Control. This technology observes user’s behavioral patterns and based on the analysis, it judges whether a mail is spam or not. The system works on the principles of Artificial Intelligence so that it acts as a self-learning mechanism that spots spam with the best accuracy.

Network Administrators would love this new version as it does a lot to lower the administrative over-head to a near zero and adds great flexibility in micromanaging individual users. Different policies for Virus Scan, Attachment Blocking and Web Access Control with multiple categories are enforced and managed from the Management Console.

As one would remember, eScan was among the very few AntiVirus Solutions that got an ‘A+’ from the widely respected AV Comparatives Study in this February, which compared most AntiVirus products in the present day market. If it was an earlier version of eScan that won the coveted recognition, this new power-packed version is definitely good news for security enthusiasts.
